I want to be and do all that I want to in this life. And there's so much I could be and do... Is there enough time for me to have it all? I read about the fig tree analogy that comes from Sylvia Plath's novel, 'The Bell Jar'.
It feels like we've forgotten how to think for ourselves. It feels like we've forgotten how to think as an individual - with our own ideas, thoughts, and perspectives. To think critically and form our own opinions about topics and in conversations. To pull from our own experiences and life wisdom.
Being uncertain is not the same as being aimless. Not knowing where you're going is not the same as having no future. Feeling directionless does not mean your life lacks direction. Rather, some of the most important seasons of life may begin in confusion. There is a strange kind of wisdom in not knowing. And in that, there are also all the possibilities of what could be.
We overthink too much sometimes. Sometimes we need to take the leap and just do it. Rather than stay stuck doing nothing at all, sometimes we need to prioritise taking action and making the decisions we need to make. When you're feeling unsure or uncertain about doing something, or delaying something and waiting for the "right" or "perfect" time to do it, there's a new perspective we can think about: The time will pass anyway.
